I found your blog thanks to Nicholas (Wardigo). It is lovely. I cannot wait to read your writing! Were you at Push to Publish? Like you, I am also a child of Latino/a immigrants (I was born in Mexico), studied in the US. Received a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology and taught Women’s Studies for a while before I decided to do what I love: WRITE!!
Your post about Mr. McCourt (my hero) really resonated with me:
“When I was in Frank McCourt’s class in 1980 I dreamed about being a professional writer. After I put down Angela’s Ashes my first thought was, “It’s never too late.” Mr. McCourt was still giving me the gift of his encouragement long after I left his classroom.”
Keep up the great writing! And if you are ever in the neighborhood, drop on by for some coffee.
Thank you for your lovely comments! (And thanks to Nick for connecting us.) I was at Push to Publish and sorry that we didn’t meet there. I would love to have coffee some time. I live in Havertown;weekends are best since I work in Center City during the week. So maybe a weekend in November? I am out of town the first weekend but home the rest of the month. Let me know what works for you. My email is lrosado525@gmail.com
